Fuji F30 Finepix Digicam Reviews

Fuji created quite a stir when the Finepix F10 first came out last year, appearing as the first compact digital camera with an unheard of ISO 1600 low light capability. Being able to shoot without flash in dim situations quickly made it a best seller.

Fuji quickly followed up with the F20 going up to ISO 2000.

Now with the Finepix F30 Fuji has upped the ante to a Digital SLR speed of ISO 3200. Maintaining the 6 megapixels of the previous model, the F30 maintains the 3x zoom but has a new Super CCD.

Reviews are generally good but still fault the F30’s predisposition to chromatic abberation and as with all pocket cameras the dynamic range is limited compared to a Digital SLR leading to cropped highlights, plus the new ISO 3200 rating is perhaps a bit too ambitious.

Sony introduced the Cybershot DSC-T50 pocket point and shoot camera for a mid October 2006 release.

This camera follows the latest trend of including image stabilization in ultra compact cameras. Some key features:

  • 7.2 megapixels
  • 3 inch LCD touch screen
  • 3x optical zoom
  • 56mb of internal memory
  • Sony Memory Stick PRO Duo for extra storage
  • ISO 1000 speed

I love real world reviews like this; a refreshing change from the dry technical analysis of other reviews with noise graphs and speed charts that give no indication of what real shooting looks and feels like on a camera.

IR gives the Sony DSC-T10 ultra compact digital camera props for being so slim with an excellent feature set and effective image stabilization. Good lens quality, fast shutter speed as most Sony digicams are know for plus a LCD viewable in almost every situation (another Sony quality) and excellent video, battery life and prints round out the good qualities.
