Fuji FinePix S5 Pro Digital SLR - Fuji's Latest DSLR
Fuji today announced the FinePix S5 Pro DSLR, the successor to their previous digital SLR camera the FinePix S3 Pro, a 12.3 megapixel beast.
Surprisingly there is no image stabilization and the high end of ISO 1600 seems kind of stingy for a new SLR. No price has been set yet but delivery is for February 2007.
Differences Between the FinePix S5 Pro over FinePix S3 Pro
Image processing and quality between S5 and S3 Pro
* Real Photo Technology Pro, which combines the Super CCD SR Pro and the RP (Real Photo) Processor Pro, allows for greater dynamic range with smoother tonality from highlight to shadow

Greater flexibility to control colour and dynamic range
* For even greater creative control over the FinePix S5 Pro’s dynamic range, photographers can now choose from up to six preset ranges between 100% and 400%
* For improved reproduction of natural skin tones,…
Fuji F31fd Compact Camera with Face Recognition

Pocketlint review the Fuji FinePix F30, the earlier version of this camera. They give the 6.1 megapixel digital camera thumbs up for it’s great build, compact design, fast operation and good image quality. Thumbs down for no optical viewfinder and detail loss at the higher ISO settings.
DCResource’s review of the FinePix F30 concurs mostly with additional comments about the good low light AF assist, many manual camera controls, powerful flash and excellent battery life. Negatives are above average purple fringing and unimpressive continuous shooting mode in addition to the negatives in the pocketlink review.
Fujifilm today announced the launch of the FinePix F31fd, its first pocketable digital camera to feature hardware-based Face Detection technology, which debuted with the announcement of the FinePix S6500fd in July 2006. Face Detection has great impact on people photography, ensuring the camera automatically focuses on and exposes for faces, rather than details that can confuse other cameras.
